Who we are:

We describe ourselves as creative interpreters, as we look to translate all challenges into inspiring spaces, and we believe creativity is a skill that can be applied to many sectors.

Our offer sits between the architect at one end of the creative scale and the product designer at the other. The ground between these two disciplines encompasses a huge range of creativity, to which …our mix of complementary design skills can respond. We have many examples of successful projects which fall into these areas, from low-budget solutions to higher-value schemes.

To be able to offer our clients a full end-to-end service we have developed long-standing relationships with other professionals such as cost consultants and structural engineers as well as contractors and specialist suppliers with whom we collaborate to deliver the best possible results.

Why we are different:

There is a perception that design consultants are strong on creativity but unsatisfactory at project management. We have a track record of being able to manage the client’s briefing requirements from the initial challenge through to the final output.

Most design consultants tend to be reactive in their response to a client brief, at the expense of maintaining a strategic perspective. This is where bwd is different. We work in partnership with our client to proactively identify their requirements and thoroughly explore their present and future considerations so that we start from a solid foundation.

Understanding our clients’ viewpoint and their strategic business direction is important to the team at bwd. Our clients really appreciate our hands-on approach and are surprised by our empathy with their day to day pressures. This is something Beverley Wood, our creative director, fully understands having spent five years client-side heading up the store concept design team at the retail giant,Arcadia Group.

We also tailor our services and fees to suit individual project requirements, as they require differing degrees of creative input. We have very high internal standards and devote the same attention to every challenge we are given, big or small.
