We are so proud to announce another win for the babes who design. Yes, we did it again!

On September 23rd ladies from across the North West gathered in the spectacular Winter Gardens in Blackpool to discover the winners of the Enterprise Vision Awards 2016 (EVAS). A highly commended awards ceremony celebrating women entrepreneurialism.

Our owner and Creative Director, Bev was nominated for the prestigious Creative Industry of the Year Award, a highly coveted award and a category with fierce competition. Bev herself knew the competition was incredibly tough this year with so many amazing businesses nominated.

The nomination process for the Enterprise Vision Awards started back in June 2016. Businesses of all shapes and sizes can be nominated for the awards and there are 16 categories. After an intense interview process, Bev made it to the finals.  The judges are the ones who decide who wins each category however in the case of a draw, the public can cast their votes and swing a decision.

The awards night was another spectacular event.  Coral Horn, the founder of Pink Link Ladies, pulled out all the stops to create a spectacular event. A roulette table supplied by Grosvenor Casino, goody bags sponsored by one of BWD’s clients; the Houndshill Shopping Centre and the famous photo booth sponsored by Artisan Tiles & Interiors.

On arrival the paparazzi were out, champagne was flowing and the gowns were certainly sparkling this year. Local event caterers, Rowley’s Outside Catering provided us with gastronomic delights and the night was topped off by live music from Touch The Pearl. Even last years’ Inspirational Woman of the Year Award Winner, took the stage to dazzle the audience with her group of dancers from Dance Syndrome

Coral Horn took to the stage to introduce this year’s hostess, Rebecca Jane of The Lady Detective Agency and a Pink Link supporter. Rebecca introduced the various category sponsors, to the stage to announce the winners.  It is fantastic watching all of the winners taking to the stage.  The roars of applause from their family and friends are deafening.

When the moment arrived to announce the winner of the Creative Industry of the Year Award the tension on our table was immense.  The creative industry is one of the hardest categories to judge as it is so subjective.  The judges struggled to choose just one winner and firstly announced their Highly Commended, which was awarded to Katy Craven of Katie Craven Illustration, a fabulous local illustrator and a worthy runner up. When they announced “and the winner is… Beverley Wood of Beverley Wood Design” our table went crazy!  You could see that Bev was so shocked.  In her speech she announced;

“This category has so much talent, creative industry is such a subjective category I’m absolutely amazed to win.”

The judges said that Bev’s commitment to the creative sector and breadth of work, for businesses across the North West and the UK, secured her and BWD the win.

The celebrations continued long into the night, assisted by ‘Touch the Pearl’ a 9 piece band who certainly got everyone into the swing of it.

The BWD office is now home to three Enterprise Vision Awards for which we couldn’t be more proud.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the judges, who made our win possible, and to all our friends and family who have supported Bev and her team at BWD. We couldn’t have done this without you”.
